Initially, I created my channel to answer questions from friends and acquaintances. I was a digital nomad at the time and had traveled to over 30 countries while sustaining that extravaganza by freelancing (PPC and web analytics). As friends of friends found out about my lifestyle, they began asking me how they could switch to working remotely.
It was taking me a long time to answer everyone, so I began recording video instructions: “go to this website,” “click this button,” “write this word.” I instructed my compatriots and everyone who understood Russian on how to register on freelance marketplaces, require professional skills, make portfolios, and write business messages in English. There was no equivalent of this information in Russian on YouTube, and so my channel began to grow.
